iDJREC055: Badweed Give it to Me b/w Kiss Kiss

A. Give it to me
Smooth vocals over a high-energy drum track with snappy snares??? Give this track to me! Badweed’s dnb remix of this club rnb club smasher works in the ways only dnb can with the pumping bass to get the floor moving. A funky percussive halftempo breakdown standardly sets the tone for a bass-heavy drop and the return to the running break that gets everyone in the club to “give it up!”

AA. Kiss Kiss
Badweed’s flipside offers up another rnb meets dnb rework that guarantees both wide recognition and loads of footwork. The lead is absolutely funky and complements the vocals perfectly. It seamlessly comes to the front before bubbling down to give the song several high-interest layers at all times. It’s tracks like this that make me use the repeat feature on my mp3 player.

iDJREC054: Infraktus Rescue Me b/w Distorted Reality

A. Rescue Me -
Infraktus knows how to smooth it out, especially on “Rescue Me”. Hypnotic vocals, sublime pads and some rhodes on reverb make this one tick. Melanie’s voice flows over the beats and soundscapes like a well-poured Guinness into a frosted glass. Add “Rescue Me” to your list of reasons why drum and bass is so much more than club music. (Not to worry, Infraktus brings some of that too!)

AA. Distorted Reality -
Infraktus brings the futuristic vibe with Distorted Reality on the B-side. The pads take on a serious role all the way to the drop which is a total trip to outer space. The drums smack and the lead synth wobbles each and every way. Best of all are the bass stabs that hit the gut with all the right combinations, killer instinct style. You can bet iDJR is looking forward to what this talented and versatile artist has on deck next!

iDJREC053: Nick & Erina Z

All Down b/w
Slipping into Blood

A. All Down
Turn it over for a taste of broken beat madness and one of the gnarliest basslines you’ve ever heard. You can bet Nick and Erina Z leave no snare unturned and no bassline intact as the breaks get chopped behind a distorted violin and the bass rumbles deeper than a dinosaur fossil. If you’ve come for drums and bass, look no further, this one’s stripped down to the core and raw as hell!

AA. Slipping into Blood
“Just last week I had a slip…” into this stormer of a darkside smasher! Another exquisitely produced soundscape by Nick & Erina Z, the highlight being the seesaw bridge of bass which heralds the second drop. The bassline has all the growl you need for a pit fight and the eerie sounds provide the mood while the drum track displays many clever arrangements of a variety of percussions. Wicked stuff indeed!

A. Hell Yeah

Oh yes, the wait was totally worth it. Queensyze keeps on innovating with a fresh new brand of electro-rock drum and bass. Out with the trance synths and in with the filtered guitar riffs, vocoded singing and a bouncy break. This one has about seven flavous of party mixed in and they're all worth tasting. Reeewind! Metaphaze brings us another Mi Sensi remix which guarantees to satisfy the dancefloor’s need for some ragga tech. Guitar licks round out the instrumental selection for yet another iDJR innovative banger.

iDJREC050: Override & Nitrous feat. Melina Addicted 2 You b/w VIP mix

A Addicted 2 You -
And this is the one you’ve been waiting for! iDJR’s huge 50th release is just that – an awe-inspiring track from the Montreal duo of Override and Nitrous, none other than the label’s founder. Melina provides superb vocals over perfect horns and a searing bassline that just builds this one to amazing heights. The intro is pure goosebump material, the drop is massive and the breakdown is heavy like a Mack Truck full of vinyl records. If you get one track off iDJR, this should be it as it is definitely not worth sleeping on.

AA. Addicted 2 You (VIP) -
Override and Nitrous explore the more rugged potential of this track with a VIP treatment. The horns step aside to allow for the bass to get the big boost for 2K8. This, more forceful, version keeps the gorgeous vocals and flips them another way – echo and filter style. An awesome VIP mix of an already awesome track, each one offers up a ton of originality and variety. Of course this one has Nitrous’ superb drum edits that are all funk ad no filler. Huge!

iDJREC049: Soul Soldier Bad Gyal b/w Lil' Guetto Boy

A. Bad Gyal -
Back to the roots! Ragga vibes in the house here, Bad Gyal has it all and is bad indeed! Amen choppage, funky lyrics, dubby deep subs and some catchy filtered vox round out this hot track. The bass stabs mean business like a three piece suit made of grime, low frequencies and a bit of crunch. The percussions give the drums an added element as the clavs contrast the heavier drum edits surprisingly well. Watch where ya walk!

AA. Lil' Guetto Boy -
The intro a hip-hop throwback made for those of us getting into d’n’b from the 90s, but the rest is pure beefy bass and ragga vox. The bassline steals the show here and is guaranteed to rumble any system. Soul Soldier comes properly with another track of intense amen chops, guaranteed to please. iDJR’s got your dose of raga this month for sure!

iDJREC048: Sinister Release Her b/w Moonlight

A. Release Her
Straight up and down this release won’t release you but take hold and give you a drum ride to the darkside. Smooth, ominous keys and massive drums contrast to keep this track on its edge. The drums are tightly layered to give the track a back-and-forth urgency. This one is the tug of war that gets you off your feet and on the dance floor.

AA. Moonlight
Fresh sounds from the Sinister one; this time it’s groovy Rhodes, horns and a natural vibe that keep the vibes rolling. Edits are in effect, and the drums do not disappoint. The sub bass is one for the gut that follows the frequency all the way to your rump. The bass bubbles just like the beer foam on a hot summer’s day. Give me more!

iDJREC047: Nosrac None Would Escape b/w Ironside 2030

A. None Would Escape
Not one to disappoint, iDJR guarantees to push the boundaries by presenting None Would Escape by Nosrac. This month has a wide array of releases to satisfy all tastes and Nosrac gives us a double-dose of heavy drum-core breaks – enough to take us all the way to the edge and back again to the lands of overdose and withdrawal. This one has it all – damaging breaks, hectic fills and a bass lead to die for (or be killed by). Nosrac doesn’t let up for a second with the brilliant variations – around every corner there’s a new fill or bass drop. Just be sure you’re seated when listening to this one because it’s guaranteed to knock you off your feet.

AA. Ironside 2030
Definitely on a different tip than None Would Escape, Ironside 2030 is what we would et if Triplettes de Belleville met the Jungle Drummer. A full on jazz track with a bass line that could be a didgeridoo mixed with a tuba, this one keeps an astounding energy while giving us some down-to-earth fun music to listen too. The constant element between these two Nosrac tracks is the quantity of ideas we find in them, none of this looping business for Nosrac!

iDJREC046: X-Zero Spirits b/w Release

A. Spirits
X-Zero brings us an expertly crafted tune that makes delicious use of reverb to create a soundscape of crisp breaks and low bass that snakes round and keeps building. What begins innocently enough mounts steadily until the groove is full on. The snares fit seamlessly with the amens and drop well together at the right time.

AA. Release
In a flash we’re taken from the dubby deepness of Spirits into the upbeat jazzy vibes of “Release”. The regular piano keys keep the track bubbling while the bubbly bass keeps things energetic and bubbly. Again we see some very tight drum work showcasing many nifty short rolls. The sax plays naturally over the beat with some of that appealing reverb that appears on Spirits. What is for sure is that both these tracks are very well-produced and do exactly what they say on the box.

iDJREC045: Cycloid Drum'n'Birds

As expected from the title, this one starts off with nature’s own music and proceeds to introduce the jungle to the birds, not the other way around. Once the bass drops you know you’re in for a fun ride as this one gets the rump shaking and wobbling like a full kettle when it boils and bubbles over. There is some definite old school attention paid to the drum arrangements on this one and the payoff is an insidious funky roller with some excellent breaks to tie it together.

iDJREC043: Francium Ambience b/w Legacy

A. Ambiance
Rounding out this month’s releases is a melodic and thoughtful track by Francium. Filtered amens and some upbeat rhodes characterize the tune and give it a nostalgic pre-millenium feel. The tightly layered snares keep it up to date though and some hefty rolls with a very funky bassline towards the end guarantee dancefloor appeal on those early Sunday mornings and nice listening for the ride home.

AA. Legacy
Funky keys in the house! Francium brings another nice liquid roller to the iDJR roster this month. The beat keeps running while the pads and rhodes create a stunning atmosphere. Half-time beats allow the track to slow it down before picking it back up again in true dancefloor fashion. The synthesized sub gives this track a hell of a foundation to build on and it does just that. Whether you’re playing it out or just chilling, there’s no doubt this is one enjoyable tune.

iDJREC042: Dubwater Take it Off Next Girl

Take it Off/Next Girl -
Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeloaaaaaaaaaaad!! You know the party has touched down when this one sets the roof off. Dubwater crafts a killer dubplate pressure of hype vox, wobbly bass and 100-hit combo breaks. The sub gets right in there where the sun doesn't shine and leaves the dancefloor weak in the knees. Sirens and firing lead synths bring the energy to the next level, keeping this track kicking hard from the moment it drops until the beat trails off. Definitely the most dancefloor-oriented track of this batch of releases, don't be the one to sleep on it.

iDJREC041: Nitrous & Francium Spanish Fly b/w Catalyst

A. Spanish Fly -
Fresh sounds out of Montreal is the only way to describe this gorgeous roller of a tune from the city's own Nitrous and Francium. It's a Raggaton-meets-d'n'b-meets-moog music that will get the booty shakin' every time. Trademark Nitrous breaks sit back to some deliciously warm liquid synths and a deep sub that gets the chest shaking at any time of day or night. The throwback to the casio style is definitely welcome when it's done so well, just the kind of variation expected from iDJR.

AA. Catalyst -
More warm synths and an upbeat vibe accompany the vocal for a fun dacefloor-oriented liquid roller. The bass kicks in at 2:10 and from there on it's pure bootylicious dnb from the Montreal duo. The funk-filled piano keys plant this track firmly in the realm of "crowd pleaser". An aptly-named track, this one's a catalyst for smiles on faces, arms flailing and shoes stepping to the beat. Tasty drum cuts and halftempo breaks keep this one pumping to the very end through a well-crafted denouement, just like they should be written.

iDJREC040: Nitrous Ukasakeku b/w Identity Crisis

A. Ukasakeku -
iDJR: "putting the music back in drum and bass music." With the help of Erina Z, Nitrous delivers on all beats with this beautifully original take on the genre. Erina's hypnotic vocals mix with Nitrous's exquisite percussion work and Asiatic instrumentals to concoct an elixir of pure aural pleasure. After an initial listen, the reaction is invariably "wow", and the track keeps growing tall as it is deep. An excellent lasting tune from the label's boss.

AA. Identity Crisis -
Back to the dancefloor, Nitrous doesn't forget d'n'b's roots. A double-dose of energetic bass and leads pumps the massive kicks all the way to your door and past to the other side. The snares are what really give this track its supreme urgency and energy, as Nitrous has crafted them to snap each joint of your body in exactly the right order.

iDJREC039: Nick & Erina Z Vengeful Spirits b/w Planchettes Dark Cloud

A. Vengeful Spirits -
Definitely one for the drumfunk heads, Vengeful Spirits gives us more of exactly what we love about Nick & Erina Z: complex drum patterns, eerie atmospheres and deep brooding, basslines. Just in time for Halloween, this track is a guaranteed spooky hit at the next haunted house near you. More than just a shocker, the pounding basses bounce off each other to craft a funky swaying vibe that grips you tight and doesn't let go.

AA. Planchettes Dark Clouds -
Perfectly complementing the A side, Planchettes Dark Clouds explores a higher frequency range without sacrificing any of the raw feeling. The hi hats round out the track perfectly giving the track a "if-DJ-Shadow-did-a-lot-of-acid-and-made-a-dnb-track" vibe. Another definite winner from iDJR's darkside masters.

iDJREC038: AP Bolan Virtual Future b/w This

A. Virtual Future -
When the technological advances of the 21st century come together to help produce a smasher track like this one it is clear we live in a glorious time. AP Bolan summons forth the best electronic synths and bass to give us a glimpse of the excellent music the future has in store. Vocal and clock chime samples tie the theme together but it's the crisp drums and bubbly bass that make this one a timeless track for the neuro heads. Tip for the DJs: 6:10 is when the dancefloor gets ripped a new one.

AA. This -
AP Bolan keeps with the future vibes with the flipside "This". A bit deeper, a bit darker, but all the bass and the drum we need to bust out a robot. Fat rolls populated the tight drum break awhile the bass pounds and the synths weave a funky mix around your ears. Layered percussions do an excellent job of keeping the vibe properly funky through the soundscapes that propel the track into high energy orbit. AP Bolan definitely delivers on this double A-side release for iDJR.

iDJREC037: Phantom & Vicious D Flesh Eater (Phantom remix) b/w Havoc

A. Flesh Eater (Phantom remix) -
It's been a hot minute since iDJR dropped one of our signature hard-as-nails tracks, but folks, wait no more. Phantom does a magnificent grimey rework of Vicious D's "Flesh Eater for this A-side release. Clever synth filters, bumping bass and ambient sounds make for a short but sweet bridge in what is otherwise a sandwich of energetic distortion and powerful drum breaks. The bass has a hard-tech feel but benefits from intricate d'n'b arrangement standards, making for a track that goes above and beyond.

AA. Havoc
Phantom delivers again on the flipside, "Havoc" (apt name). Energy and power describe this track best, complete with kicks that do what they say on the box and more of the in-your-face distorted basslines that make the Flesh Eater remix bang so hard. In contrast, the breakdown gives the lead more room to breathe and the drop can only be described as an epic mount of sickness (good).

iDJREC036: Stylust Death Reese 3000 b/w Here We Go Again

A. Death Reese 3000-
Start your engines, because this track is running things! The violin-esque melodic intro only suspends the disbelief of the oncoming dancefloor massacre when this one drops, drops again and then a drops third time. Two bass leads keep the track dark but work give a grooving melody while letting the drums and subs do the real driving work. "Death Reese 3000" has the consistency of a roller but the big sound and drops of an epic tune, making it fit nicely in the mix no matter where you want to drop it.

AA. Here We Go Again-
The perfect smooth synth and subby roller gets the party going everytime. "Here We Go Again" features a running steppy beat peppered with funky edits, percussions and fills. The leads and pads intertwine to create a solid yet ever-changing soundscape that ranges from high to low while funky bass stabs give the track headsnap appeal. iDJREC031: Lenny Breaks Noise b/w The Silent (feat. Toksik Shok Sin Drone)

A. Noise-
Lenny Breaks brings some heavy drum and bass with a definite hint of evil and sinister intentions in this release. The beat cuts are pure horrorshow and the lead screams at you from the other side of the abyss. Cleverly, Lenny holds out on over-compressing the drums, thereby making a track unique in structure and purpose. The beat keeps chugging the song along but really makes room for the myriad of sounds and lead bass arrangements - the heaviness is there but hinted at in other regards. The end result is a deep, dark track unlike any other that serves as the perfect lead in to the heaviest track to be played that night.

AA. The Silent-
If you like your beats dark, hard and heavy with a touch of psycho murderation, then this track is for you. Drum edits abound and the track is peppered with sick breakdowns and horrorcore samples. "The Silent" manages to reach a level of energy unparalleled by most other track on the back of its sheer aggression. Of course, the leads add the necessary gut wrenching to complete the "huge tune" checklist. Yet another quintuplet from iDJR to showcase the wide styles of drum and bass.

iDJREC030: Materia Hallucinations b/w Northern Spirit

A. Hallucinations-
Play time’s over - bring on the neuro! Materia smacks it with this roller. The kicks turn like a well-oiled race car complete with some surprise gear-shifting shuffle fills and the bass crunches like roadkill under a mack truck. Materia teases us by hinting at the lead at the first drop, only to bring it back full force for the second drop, making this one a dj tool extraordinaire. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for more from this hot producer.

AA. Northern Spirit-
The beatless intro creeps up on you but doesn’t waste any time pumping the mercury to record-high levels with some more of the trademark beats and leads we heard in “Hallucinations”. Some vocoded vox boost the track after the second drop which makes this one a definite dancefloor filler and killer. Speaking of the second drop I have tow words for you: drum roll. Props to Materia for not forgetting about the place the drum roll has in deep, rolling neuro. Pure brockage inside.

iDJREC029: Mineral It Could Just be a Dream b/w Silver Falls

A. It Could Just be a Dream-
Mineral puts the music back into jungle with this fresh sounding throwback track. Quirky descending ambient sounds keep the track rolling while some old school breaks take you back to smooth GLR-type vibes. The first drop brings the boom - it wouldn’t be jungle without some massive subbass - while the second drop turns up the pressure with Mineral’s thought-provoking arrangements. All in all “It Could Just be a Dream” is an excellent representation of the ambient style and iDJR’s artistic diversity.

AA. Silver Falls-
Cascading rhodes herald another ambient journey even more laid back than its predecessor. The deep subs and kicks are here again but the break and its arrangements take a much more relaxed form, backseat to the pads which work as the canvas for this solid tune. Reverb and panning put the listener in a very nice aural place in preparation for the “Falls” - amen business at the 5:15 mark. It’s executed perfectly, maintaining the vibe of the song while adding energy and going straight to the hairs on the back of your neck. A double A-side winner!

iDJREC028: Scandal Jah Jah's Love b/w Ruff & Rugged

A. Jah Jah's Love-
iDJR co-owner Scandal comes definitely correct on this ragga-tech roller that is sure to please all crew. Subbass runs gamut behind the cracking beat and soulful vocals. Techy breakdowns keep the track spicy and varied. This one rolls on straight through until the end by creating a vibe you just don't want to stop listening to. Most original of all is the second drop that cleverly borrows the idea of a record skip in a manner that sounds nothing else but tight.

AA. Ruff & Rugged-
The flip-side comes distinct with a deeper take on the style created by Scandal on "Jah Jah Love". Slightly darker and with more focus on dubby jungle sounds, Ruff & Rugged is exactly that, a deep cavern of a tune with a jagged edge. Most fitting are the asiatic sounds which manage to fit the ragga-tech sound perfectly in what feels most like a hip hop crossover connection.

iDJREC027: Nixx Soul Quantize b/w Fast Unified Circuit Key

A. Soul Quantize-
Boom goes the dynamite! This track is standout for two reasons: the superbly crafted synth breakdowns and the bubbly subbass arrangements that bring you back in time. Subtle shifts in the sound keep you locked in while Nixx adds on the heavy one layer at a time. A perfect example is the second drop which starts off deep but before you know it you're knee-deep in the madness. This is one of those tracks that keeps growing on you because each subsequent listen has more to offer.

AA. Fast Unified Circuit Key-
More of Nixx's twisted sickness basslines drive this home like a nail in a 2-by-4. Synth edits keep the rhythm flowing from the left as the amen mashups keep business pounding from the right. This one is an unrelenting assault hellbound on a scud middile. Warning: Massiveness inside!

iDJREC026: DJ Bugg Dance with Me b/w High Time

A. Dance with Me-
Bugg brings it in prfessional fashion this with two dancefloor smashers on the iDJ imprint. 'Dance With Me' features a rolling grimey lead and filtered drums that do exactly what the doctor ordered - build it up, break it down and drop it heavy. This track has a funky vibe that works well in any setting and any mood. In short, this is a perfect example of a pure, unadulterated, well-executed dancefloor tune.

AA. High Time-
On the flip, Bugg explores the lighter side of drum and bass with 'High Time'. Inside are soothing rhodes, uplifting pads and some horns that send shivers down the spine. Don't get it twisted though - as soon as the beat drops it's obvious that High Time is no less for the dancefloor than its predecessor. Like the latter, it features a rolling bass synth that keeps the energy and presence while the organic musical components go to work. This is the perfect track for DJs who want to tear the roof off the dancefloor with big sound and big energy without turning to the darkside. Definitely a track for the jump-up heads but be warned because this will convert even the most entrenched chin-strokers with its dancefloor appeal.

AA. Under Mi Sensi remix-

Top it off with some classic ragga vox and you have all the makings of a winner tune. iDJREC019: Queensyze Fuck me Amadeus b/w Papparazzi Snap my Photo

A. Fuck me Amadeus-
"Oh my God, look who it is!!!" Queensyze is back and this time with two massive electro-style dnb cuts. On the A side we have "Fuck me Amadeus", party-track extraordinaire. Skeezy vocoded samples, a slamming guitar rift and some trademark electro sounds over a running drum arrangement make this the track to drop at midnight just after everyone is all crunked up.

AA. Papparazzi Snap my Photo-
The flipside, "Papparazzi Snap my Photo" compliments the A-side with more of the vocoded vox and bubbling keys that make electro dnb so fun. As expected, the track makes perfect use of a camera shutter sample to add to the mix and build the theme. The main difference between "Papparazzi" and "Amadeus" is the lack of guitar in the former, making it a more traditional electro cut but also making it a perfect lead in for the unbridled energy of the A-side.

Some melodic ragga vocal chops mix with a jazzy piano and a massive ensemble of drum rolls and edits to kick off "Sensi for Sale". All is well until the bassline drops and that's when this track turns the party out. A hefty dose of subbass and wobble make this one the tune to move your booty to: this is the new school ragga sound at its finest from iDJR.

iDJREC017: Recall Axe Wound b/w Demon Stration

A. Axe Wound-
This one's the rump shaker! Another dose of pure funk on iDJr. Imagine a Primo beat with a Beatminerz bassline shifted to drum and bass and you'll have an accurate description of how this track smacks. Pretty quickly the urgency is established by a funky rave alarm and a wobble that will keep everyone moving. The synthesis of sounds here is unlike the styles we've come to expect from drum and bass and that can only be a good thing. Perhaps best is how the track continues to build but does away with the big 'drop' that restricts the structure of so much dnb out there; you'll notice in this selection it's not missed at all.

AA. Demon Stration-
Recall shows us that he's not only capable of pushing boundaries but also great execution. Demon Stration is a techy banger that is noteworthy for balancing the dark reese with some funky and uplifting sound effects. This is a great track for giving the dancefloor a dose of heaviness without sacrificing the mood. Whether you're moving the dancefloor to or from a heavier sound, it's transition tracks like this that get the job done.

iDJREC016: Invisible Fre.Q.uency Resurrection

Don't leave your kids at home alone when Resurrection is roaming the streets! This one is neuro to the core: a steppy beat, chopppy synth stabs and thick layer of atmosphere bring this track to full tilt at the 2:40 mark at which point it's on! Invisible Fre.Q.ency does a good job of holding off on the main surprise until the smooth breakdown at 4 minutes. The drum edits will make this one bang into any mix in a powerful but uncluttered way. Check it out!

iDJREC015: Optimystic feat. MC Houston All Systems

The clock bell that signals the futuristic and foreboding intro does the perfect job of setting the tone for this masterpiece by Optimystic. Alien sounds accompany a multi-level subbass that progresses the track from a sci-fi soundtrack to a full-fledged techy banger. Better than most tracks out there, the electronic sounds of All Systems come together in a way that is more musical than would be expected from a similar effort. Definitely one for the bag.

iDJREC014: Sappo/Seiros D Sky (Seiros D remix) b/w Fear Effect

A. Sky (Seiros D remix)-
Not content to represent only one style, iDJR brings the dancefloor a roller with its own vibe. From the smooth, epic intro to the classic jungle samples and head snapping break, Seiros D's remix of Sappo's "Sky" is the kind of track that will fit seamlessly into any set.

AA. Fear Effect-
Picking up where "Sky" left off, "Fear Effect" brings more of the heavy breaks, nasty basslines and rollage of the former. This time we're treated to more of a rock vibe combined with an extremely versatile bassline that makes the track feel like a rollercoaster ride on acid. A beautiful creation of tension, straight from Russia.

iDJREC013: OTM aka Rakoon New Era

More disgustingness is exactly what we want from the one like Rakoon and that's exactly what we get on this release. Hectic drum edits complement the dirtiest, grimiest lead heard on iDJR thus far. With a bit of a hard techno feel, the best way to describe this track is that it's like shaking a jar of ants and watching them fight it out. Bottom line is that this one hits fast, hard and heavy. Best of all, the track doesn't waste any space, even up to the massive breakdown before the drop at 5:40. A must have for the iDJ darkside lovers.

iDJREC012: Queensyze Showers of Madness b/w Love in Code

A. Showers of Madness-
This one starts off with a crash-bang-BOOM! right into some filtered vocals and a funky drum that just spells doom for the dancefloor. The drop lives up to the track title and then some, bringing the madness in sheets and waves as opposed to showers. Showers of Madness is a full on aural assault that has enough energy packed inside to nuke a room no matter how hard the previous track brought it. This track has more to it than just hard noise though. Queensyze brings the musicality as always with a hard rock vibe that keeps the party going all night long.

AA. Love in Code-
Where Showers of Madness is all about creating a d'n'b hard rock party, Love in Code is reminiscent of the electroclash dnb sound pushed by the one and only John B. As is seen on this release, it is wonderful to have another artist that can pull off the sound with such impeccable execution. As a testament to the fact, John B is remixing Queensyze's electro escapades. Improving on these tracks will prove quite the challenge as Love in Code brings exactly what we want in an electro track: casio keys, a vocodered female voice and a funky rhythm in a simple yet extremely catchy arrangement. Two dancefloor tracks you don't want to miss.

iDJREC011: Nick & Erina Z Outward Manifestation b/w Violent Demonstration

A. Outward Manifestation-
The horrorshow continues this week with another dark double A-side release by Nick and Erina Z. Outward Manifestation features slick drum edits and a sidewinder synth that slaps you out of nowhere. The haunting sounds in the background keep it dark but in the foreground is pure funky drum and bass. iDJ's commitment to keeping dancefloor tracks atmospheric and making sure atmospheric tracks have dancefloor appeal is shown nowhere better than on this release. Whether in your car, pod or on the floor, this one keeps you wanting more.

AA. Violent Demonstration-
While Violent Demonstration starts out on a significantly lighter note than its flip, make no mistake, this track lives up to its title. Bubbly and bouncy dubstep sounds and a clockwork breakbeat quickly get grimier and dirtier until the track is barrelling along at full tilt. Very clever use of individual and crowd vocal samples rounds out the selection, particularly during the first breakdown. The innovation really shines through when the beat gets a chance to shine on its own right before the second breakdown and it becomes clear how much depth there is to this track. Another definite winner from iDJ.
